As a Project Manager at Glide Marine Sdn Bhd, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of marine engine servicing projects. This includes the planning, execution, and successful completion of MRO activities for various marine vessels. You will work closely with technical teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
Job Descriptions
- Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of MRO projects, from initiation to completion.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for marine engine repair and overhaul services.
- Coordinate with technical teams to allocate resources effectively and manage workloads.
- Communicate regularly with clients to ensure their requirements are met and provide updates on project progress.
- Monitor project performance, manage risks, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Ensure all projects comply with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Prepare project reports and documentation for management and clients.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in marine or heavy engineering sectors, with a focus on MRO activities.
- Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate technical teams.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to manage client relationships and negotiate with vendors.
- Knowledge of marine propulsion systems, diesel engines, and gearbox services is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Malaysia as needed.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and marine industry standards.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and solve complex problems on the go.
